I have a Powermaster 1 wire CS-130 alternator on a serpentine set up. Mark from MAD Enterprises suggested using it as a 3 wire. I took his suggestion, added the plug that sees battery voltage on the large gauge wire and added a resistor to the smaller grey wire. Since I don’t have an idiot light, the resistor was needed. With the engine off and key on run, I have 12.5v on the 10 gauge wire and 11.80v on the grey. When running, the alternator is putting out 14.7 volts. Is that too much? There is another recent thread that said, high 14v can over charge and damage your battery.
