I think he just has the engine. What are the casting numbers and date codes for the block? The value depends on the condition and how complete the engine is.

Sorry, you are probably right James. With that in mind I would have to say a minimum of $6000 for a complete engine depending on a lot of variables. They are getting harder and harder to come by.

I would think an August 31 block would be in a 71 model car. Do you know what happened to the car it was in? I would have to agree with Rick on the value depending on how complete the engine is.
