How about a 1948 Chevy truck. Rear view on center windshield post and one on the drivers door.
First time I drove all alone, I was 12.

Got my license in 1998 so all of the daily-drivers had both mirrors, but I did do a lot of driving a Model T with only 1 mirror.

Recently read this reply in a thread about remote mirrors that made me wonder what most of us learned to drive on ?

* Well, I'm 55 and have owned cars and trucks dating back to the 1968 model year and EVERY SINGLE ONE of them had two outside mirrors, and 90% of them were Chevy's not Caddys. It MAY have been an option, but how many cars were EVER built without two mirrors from the 60's forward, kind of like power steering? The ONLY post 1955 vehicles I have ever driven in my life (other than little compact cars) without PS was an el-strippo 71' C10 that I owned for several years, and my best friend's 57' Belair. If I'm not mistaken, the SS sport mirror is the ONLY Chevelle mirror from that era that is not a pair. And whether it was standard or optional is irrelevent, only a complete idiot designs a car without two mirrors on it, from a symmetry standpoint if nothing else. *

So I thought I would start a poll and see how many people drove a drivers side mirror only equipped car like I did back then ?

This thread and quote didn't happen to be inspired by a certain YouTube channel video did it? :)

I'm not sure how I would vote on this one. I learned on two different cars before I took my driver's test. One had 1 mirror on the driver's side. The other car had 2 mirrors, one on each side. One was from the 1970 model year. The other was from the 1986 model year. :)

But maybe, just maybe, some of you out there in internet-land, learned, or drove a car with NO mirrors at all. ;)

Up to at least 69 the Chevelle came with rear view mirror and drivers door mirror. A passenger door mirror was a dealer available item only and not a factory option.
I drove my 69 for twenty years with only the drivers door mirror. Never really liked not having a mirror on the passenger door. On the 50th anniversary of the 69 Chevelle the Northern Ohio Chevelle Show featured 69s. There were seventy four 1969 Chevelles at the show. So I decided to do a little survey on how many of those 69s had a passenger door mirror. 30 of the 74 had the passenger door mirror.
Afterwards I decided to install a passenger mirror and actually I added the passenger mirror and swapped the drivers door mirror with two Morris Classics mirrors. Glad I did and don’t know what took me so long to do so. I consider it a safety thing and well worth it.

62 T bird. It was in great shape.....just driver side mirror. The biggest thing was the steering box, felt like it was infinite turns and never reached the end.
Then came the chevelle....huge upgrade.

Actually, very first was a WWII surplus jeep. Our church here in lovely Fresno had a 10 acre property that they built a grades 1-8 school on. They got the jeep to drag a length of channel iron to knock down the tumble weeds before they got too big. I was about 9 years old. Can't remember any rear view mirror...

Learned to drive in big brothers 65' 2 door Falcon wagon. 3 on the tree 260 V8. One mirror. Great car. I wanted to buy it, but he sold it to some knucklehead that drained the oil and forgot to fill it back up. Burned it up ...
