I'm putting a Carter electric fuel pump on my truck and I need to know what guage wire to use. The pump is used. Does anyone have any idea about how many amps this thing draws or what gage wire to use to power it?
Thanks

I am going to assume that this pump already has some wires coming out of the body of the pump. I would suggest matching the gauge of those wires. Failing that, Carter has a good customer support ask them. I'd be surprised if you couldn't get an answer from them on the net. Good luck

It should tell you in the info that comes with the fuel pump. If not, carter will be happy to give you the info. I would guess it would be 14, or 18 gauge to be on the safe side, but dont take my word

This might not help, but for my Mallory 140 they recommend 14 gauge or larger wire. You can get 20' of that wire for $2-$3, so to be on the safe side, I would use 14 or 12 gauge.
