Just wondering who's doing what and where you are located. Information on what kind of power adder would be cool also.

My 69 Chevelle is all steel (except hood) with full stock interior. I have a 509 ci engine with nitrous, turbo 400 trans. and 9" rearend. I run on true 29.5" x 10.5" slicks with exhaust. It's best 60' has been 1.28. Its best 1/8 mile times are 5.52 @130 mph. 1/4 mile 8.68 @ 158.46 mph.

I live in Milan, Michigan which is about 50 miles southwest of Detroit.

Not much better here. Yesterday morning there was a 1/4" thick layer of ice on everything. All the roads were a big ice skating rink.

Thanks guys. What kind of times are you running? There are some videos of Chevelles running in our local heads-up races at yellowbullet.com under Milan heads-up shoot out, then 2005 final event. My car is the Lemans blue 69. The weather was pretty bad for the 1st week in October 40* to 50* with 30 mph head wind and gusts up to 50 mph. That made for some interesting driving at top end of the track.

The best out of my all steel chevelle is a 10.90 with my LS-7 on motor. I finally stepped up and dropped in a 540 with 847hp on pump gas (91octane).I'm hopeing to get into the 9's once I can get it to hook. Then I'll think about hitting it with the spray. Your numbers are real impressive especially your sixty foot times and the size tire your running.

IMAKEHP (great name), where did you get the 9" and what's the rest of your suspension, if you don't mind my asking? Your times are VERY impressive for a heavy ride. Kudos.

Your times are pretty good, especially the 1.28 - 60'. My son has only been 1.29 and has a bigger motor. How much gear do you have and how much nitrous? We are limited to a #4 line and a 10.5W x 28" tire but only a 10.2" deck block which means you could run a 638" if you wanted. My son's car weighes 3560 with him in it and the best so far is a 8.60 @ 163 but has yet to leave real great. The 540" motor ran about what yours is running (8.638 @ 159.64) with 325 shot. Your track at Milan is nice, i was there once when i worked in Michigan.

I'm just beginning to play with the current pump gas non-power adder street combo, only 9 passes as spec'd below. Best 1/8th 6.93 e.t. at 101.84 - based on e.t. and mph trends on this car that would be ~ a 1/4 mile of 10.82 at 126 mph. It has gone 125 mph in its sole tire spinning 1/4 mile pass with a 10.97 e.t. I'm going to be working on the suspension to get the 60' times down from the current 1.6x's to the 1.4x's. I think I will see strong mid 10's after I get the traction equation figured out.

Brandon, its all good. This is just a silly game that we play for fun - there are no big prizes waiting for most of us, just the satisfaction of going quicker and faster. Your car sounds real nice. I'll bet that good sticky tires and some suspension rework would do wonders for your e.t.'s.

I race for the fun of it, the money that I occasionally win just helps offset the last improvement. I had just as much fun racing my 15 second 62 Impala, 18 second 83 Nissan pickup as my 11 second Chevelle. Its our hobby, some are faster, some are prettier, some are both, just have fun doing it.

thanks for the words of encouragement and compliments, although that was more sarcasm than anything else. at this point im pretty happy with where i am, im just amazed sometimes of all of the guys on this site and the performance of their rides.

on the tires/suspension. its the rear suspension thats giving me the problems, i have new hoosier 26x10 slicks on the car. my first time out at the track i was having really bad traction problems(street tires), so i figured that if i re-installed the ssm lift bars back in the stock location and set the shocks on soft it would'nt hit the tires so hard. plus i forgot to put air in the airbags and preload the right rear. ill be putting the lift bars back in the "lift" position, setting the shocks back to stiff and will preload the bags.

although i have been to the track numerous times, im relative noob when it comes to this stuff, so im learning as i go.

Awesome 60 ft's dude, for that weight even! Seems it takes a 468 0r better to move these tug boats down the 1/4, I am building a 505, with the help of UDHAROLD, PRO SYSTEMS, and many others to get my 72 elky into the 9's on all motor, 10's will be no problem says Harold, 9's is doable with tuning. My elky has gone a best of 11:0's with a stock 454, 13:1 comp., glide, 12 bolt with 4:56 gears, wrong rear tires and it only went 1:55 60 ft.'s but deadly consistant, won a race last year still building the car at the tracks I went to,and more tuning when poss.! the new combo, 505, dart heads, same glide, new gear ratio, 4:88, new M/T ET DRAGS, and no (no-hop bars), this elky should just launch up & out, can't wait, BOP, BOP, BOP,BOP, WHAAAAAAAA!!

Your #'s are sweet, what class are you going to run next year if any at the Fri. night races? I am in Royal Oak, and we did have some great racing this year at Milan Dragway, some of the best cars/trucks around, remember that sand drag truck at the big race in the latter part of the year?, man was that thing wild, all glass, launched like a AA/fuel altered, violent isn't the word either, but we have some great racing.

What color is your car?, and do you know Kelly with the white Chevelle and black strips?, or is this you? he runs all motor and goes low 9's, runs fast and big speed, think he is running a 540 also with alum. heads, single carb, no power adders either, picks up the front end and goes.

What tire brand are you using also.

Looking forward to next year at Milan, should be very interesting with the new Drag radial class added, and the all motor class is expecting to see 632cuiners come out and play also. Think you guys are good at racing, show up at Milan next year, these guys will definetly test your skills. Good luck to all this year, have a great x-mas season and let's go racing!!!!

Yeah! I would really like to see a pic of your car. Interior shots, engine, etc. Stock appearing cars that run like yours are the best!
