i've read everything in this site about trunk mounted batteries. you guys do your homework. is the venting really necessary? i've got a brand new diehard battery and i don't want to buy an optima batt. at this time. i have a steel batt. box and need to seal from the batt. not the box. one guy mentioned he sealed up the caps and ran vacuum hose for a vent... does that sound good?
thanks john

i was thinking of somthing like PVC cut down the middle and sealed at the ends. (it would be tunnel shaped) then vented through a 3/8th tube through the floor. that's assuming the fumes exit through holes in the caps. i think air moving past the hose, under the car would pull the fuems out. i;ll need to seal the PVC tunnel to the battery.
what do ya think?
