Changing to a tilt wheel steering column. Got my old one out along with the intermediate shaft (I think that's what you call it...). Trying to get the shaft off the splined end of the old column but am afraid to force it. Bolt is out and the clamp will rotate freely. Any tips???

Here is a photo.

All it needs is a little persuasion. A brass punch and a hammer will do the trick.

Found this out the hard way. The ignition switch operates in the opposite direction for a tilt column. If you had planned on using the ignition switch off your non tilt column it will not work with tilt.

This is a reconditioned tilt I bought at Crusin' the Coast. It's got a new switch already on it. Comparing the two, I can see that the new switch connections appear to be flipped over compared to the old non-tilt switch. Thanks for the heads-up, Steve.
