Bought me a Chevelle today. Well, its not really for me, but for my wife who has wanted a 69 since we sold our last one a few years back.

I had been looking for a good roller since we do alot of LSx swaps but this one just seemed to really catch my attention and the seller seems like a really great, honest guy. Here is all I know as of right now.

The guy has had the car for 20+ years. he said he's the second owner. He has all sorts of muscle cars and really seems to know his stuff.

The car is a 1969 Chevelle SS. was a 396, 4 speed car. Has A/C, PS, PB, bucket seats, tach dash, console. The original 396 and 4 speed had been removed by the orignal owner and are not included. The car now has a ("real healthy") 396 built by some reputable race shop and was dynoed at right at 500 fwhp. has a stalled th400 trans. full polished aftermarket serpentine belt/accessory drive setup. Original 12 bolt with I believe he said 3.73 gears.

These are the best pictures I have of the car. The only rust in the car is in the roof (I"ve already got a replacement roof panel on the way)

Floor pans, wheel houses, etc are all solid. car is running/driving condition with a clean title. I dont know the mileage or have I seen the cowl tag. Until I pick it up in the next day or to, I wont know anymore about the car. Just wanted to see what you guys thought about the car. I ended up paying $10k for it. how did I do?

LOL, I like the license plate

Honest answer? To give one I would like to see under the hood. I think the defining moment on this car is captured in one word......Rust. Is that all there is under the vinyl top. For me you paid too much but that gap narrows if you do not replace any more metal than the roof. A lot of people pay $3500 for a roller that needs that much in metal replacement and they have not addressed the drivetrain. So to answer your question I think it is more about what you do not have to do. You are excited and it is your money ........ zoom zoom.
