how u can tell if a converter is bad? here is wat happen went to the track couldnt 60 ft for nothing mph was down from 92 to 85 this is a 4200 i got from my freind i traded him my 3500 i used to 60 ft in the 1.60s couldnt today then going down the track everything was going good intill i went to 3rd then it wanted to rev real high and didnt want to pull but driving it normal back thur the return roads everything is fine its does this at wide open this is the first time i ran it at the track with this 4200 any ideas

he didnt say if he had anybut u know how that goes he didnt know wat brand it was he said it was a 4200 its pretty loose tho i also heard some clicking noises when driveing it to??

tranny feel like it was slipping in 3rd? RPM increasing with speeding up the car?

yes that s about wat it was doing when i shifted into 3rd it felt like it was slipping it was hitting the rev limter but driving normal back to were i was parked at it was fine??

yea but only in 3rd????

If it's clutches they will be gone in a few days if not then the converter was it but I would not put a used converter on a good tranny in the first place also if the converter fins are broke or bent you may still eat up your clutch pack from the heat and metal.
