I know it was discussed a little before, but no input from anyone that actually had them and commented on fit and quality. The only two options I know are the USA Custom autosound, and the Ken Harrison. Anyone used either of these in a 67 and have any comments, or know of any other???
Would really like something that connects to an I-pod.

I don't want to Vendor bash, so let me be technical with my response. Both of those radios are made with the same radio chasis. The radios have very poor low frequency response and are generally tinny sounding. The new style DIN radios have awesome sound... but won't go in the dash. I bought a Pioneer with a marine remote control that I put in the console and I hid that radio.

The Ausley's radio IS a DIN radio with a 2 post face but I have yet to hear a report from anyone who purchased one. I spoke to the Ausley's folks a few months back and they were in a redesign of the radio to make it better so I'd ask about the redesign before buying.

ANYBODY in here tired the Ausley radio's? At this point I'm starting to regret giving my son my working AM radio.

Junk IMO. There, I said it....I mean if you want something "decent"...

Personally Im sticking the old AM back in the dash (I like the look) and hiding a good one that will play off a memory stick and has decent power. Never listen to whats on the radio nowadays.

I bought a nice looking original off ebay, pulled out the custom autosound POS and put in the original for looks. New radio ($150.00!) in the glove box, super sound, IPOD compatable, remote, ect. Anybody want a customer autosound radio make an offer!

Marv, shoot me a call or an email. I have a friend that did something similar to what you want to do...

He said it came out great...and I'm sure I can get the info for you!

EDIT: I got in touch with him...check it out. He said that the sound is amazing...it's the best of both worlds...looks factory stock...but rocks! (And you can hook up an Ipod to it!)

They can do the conversion on your radio...or they can supply one!

If you want to have a matched set of Custom Autosound USA 1's let me know. The other posters are not kidding. They are not worth the powder it would take to blow them up. Had mine in for a while and now, no sound, display lights, but digital display is now in Klingon. Called them and a nice lady with a nearly indecipherable asian accent told me to put it in the mail and they would call me and tell me whether it was cheaper to fix or buy a new one. Go with the hidden DIN unit. That is where I am heading. Fool me once...:noway:
