My '71 factory air car has the vacuum hot water valve mounted on the passenger side front of the intake (where it moved from the fender in the '70 model). I have seen several other cars with the same setup. However I just recentley saw photos of a supposed unmolested original SS454 A/C car that did not have a water valve at all (?????). Was it thown away some time in it's lifetime or do not all A/C cars have this setup?

71s got the water valve 72s didn't. I can't say that holds true in all cases. On cars that came with the water valve the firewall grommet for the A/C vacuum line(s) will have two lines, no water valve-one line.
