What tire pressure seems to work for you. How much of a burnout ?

What would you recommend for a 275/50/15 tire that doesn`t have a lot of side wall ?

Gears are 3.23`s that`s one reason this tire is on the car.

We`re taking the car to the track tonight with a new 496" in it (78 Camaro..not BigRed)

Any other suggestions ?

PaulM just got the same size Hoosier's on his Camaro. First time out I think he cut a 1.61 60 foot with them. PM him on Team Camaro.

I`ll check over there too, thanks

Steve, you'll probably find 18lbs cold to be a good starting point.
Wow 18 lbs !
I wouldn`t have thought a radial tire would want to go that low, but you guys know your stuff. Thanks John

Wow...strange that I'd be over here (paulm there paulm67 here) but yes I did make a couple of passes with 1.61 sixty foots on my new 275/50/15 Hoosiers. I ran 24 PSI with a very short burn out.

Anybody else tryed them. I just ordered a set because the M/T's are on back order. I have gotten a 1.41 with my M/T's and I'm hoping to get the same with the Hoosier's. My M/T's were 325/50 15's The Hoosier's are 295/65 15's. I was going to go with a taller tire anyway.

I've been 1.28 60' on the 325 Hoosier. I previously ran the M/T's, but so far I'm liking the Hoosiers more.

Same here.

I set mine at 16.5 psi first trip out and haven't touched them since. About 15 passes in a row now dead hooking. Since I haven't tried any other tire pressures I don't know if 18 psi would be better -- I can only say 16.5 works.

Consistent 1.43-1.44 sixty foot times on the Hoosiers so far.

I've run from 16 to 19 psi and saw very little difference. My car seems to not care much about tire pressure, so I try and go higher if it hooks consistently. My normal procedure is to set the tires at 17.5 psi cold which puts them at tick over 18 psi when warm. I'll then bleed them down to 18 and go from there.
