I plan on getting the Hoosier 28x10.5-15 Stiff Wall Slick that has a medium compound(C07). Anybody have experience with these slicks and how good they hook?? My setup is a 496, 10.5:1, Full Interior, TH400 with Transbrake, Stock Suspension with Lakewood Drag Shocks up front and out back. Street/Strip... Thanks

I'll throw my 2 cents in here. I used to be a die-hard Hoosier user. About 3 seasons ago my go to slick was a Hoosier 29x12. I was always able to run them till the cords were showing and they would still hook. Not anymore.... My last 3 sets of hoosiers lasted between 40 and 70 passes , when I was previously getting between 110-120 passes out if them consistently. I started thinking it was the cars issue not the tires. Numerous chassis inspections and calls to Hoosier and my tire supplier we finally found tiny cracks in the side walls. We had the dismount the slicks and pinch the sidewall to see the cracks. Switched to Mickey Thompson 3062S and issues are gone and tires last till wear holes are gone. 100 plus passes. Mind you my car is 80% bracket and index racing car and runs high 9's . So it tends to find the week link in things like tires. The hoosiers I ran worked every bit as good as the Mickey Thompson but only for 40-70 passes. I couldn't justify throwing away slicks with half the rubber left. So I switched to a Mickey a friend recommended and never looked back. I always run tubes in slicks to stiffen the sidewall , even in stiff sidewall slicks. Car is 3420 lbs , leaves at 3800 rpm on the TB and goes 1.36 sixty foot. Best of luck to you , I think Hoosier or Mickey you can't go wrong .
