Hi Guys.
In my 70 I have a new original
SS gauge cluster with new wiring harness.
New engine and forward light wiring harness.
MSD 85551 Dist
MSD Coil
And a MSD Stret Fire Ignition box/Rev limiter.

Ok here is my question. To wire up the ignition box it has a grey wire that says connect to "Tach"
Now my tach is in the cluster with no wires to connect to.
Where do I connect to?

Thank you

I might be having trouble reading this note of yours but here goes anyway. the following is my experience with a 72 factory Tach and a 6AL box.

I believe that all ya need is a wire from the MSD to the tach. MSD provides a lead from the 6Al (and I am assuming from the box you have) which sends a signal compatible with running the tach(s). Just leave the factory tach wire / lead disconnected. Get a crimp-on terminal end that fits the blade on the tach, string a wire to the MSD and make the connection to the lead that MSD designates as "Tach".

Unless I am misunderstanding somethng in your post this should be very easy.

I have a 6Al and have run it to both the factory Tach and to a Classic Instruments tach just as described above. Worked right outta the box every time.

If you have any questions on wiring check wth MSD they have great wiring diagrams on their site. If there are still areas of confusion then call MSD.

This should be pretty simple and straightforward. Good luck

Be sure that the tach is grounded prperly thru the cluster sheet metal. Funny things can happen with bad grounds.
