i have a 1 wire alternator. i want to get the AUTO METER alternator gauge hooked up in my 3 gauge panel. where do i run the wires from and too. i now this should be simple but im simple minded. what size wire do i run. thanks

The gauge should come with instructions on hook up. You can also visit their website for instructions in .PDF (Adobe Acrobat Reader) format. Basically, the ammmeter should be wired between your positive side of the battery and the battery terminal on your fuze block.

The ammeter and wire should be about 10 amps more than the capacity of your alternator output. Usually 10-gauge wire will work but make sure it's a premium grade wire.

Just curious...why an ammeter guage? A volt meter is much easier to hook up, safer, and more informative.
