L89: Just checked a couple of days ago on this, as I am on the fourth refresh in 16 years on that rat that will not die (hence the name "Bionic Rat") and a Boil, hone, cam bearings and freeze plugs, here in Wisconsin is about $150 bucks.
Hot-tank and hone is about $100-125 here in Seattle, however, the additional $$ come in when you put in all the rest of the needed parts, i.e., if you hone it .040 over aren't you gonna need a set of new forged pistons?
Stan: honing is just to rough up the surface so rings can seat, and alone does not increase the bore to the point of needing oversized pistons: that's what boring does.
Thanx all,at least I have an idea of wats in store, and how long Ill have to hang out in my shop over the next few weeks, getting L89 put back in correct running order, L89SEDAN
