Need a new vac-sec 850 cfm for my friends BB 454- he has no computer, so I am his online advocate.
This car is for street mainly and an occasional drag run.
I hear the Edelbroks are good units- are they really that different from the Holley?
Thanx

Edelbroks are good for gett'in groceries,
Hollys are for gett'in trophys and smok'in tires.

An Edel. carb will not feed a 454 properly.Tell your friend to go with a Holley or a Barry grant .The price is higher for a B.G.,but you get a lot of carb. for the dollar.I run B.G. carbs on both my b.b.and both of them see a lot of street time.

Holley's are infinitely tuneable and are always recommended for 'serious' high performance street/strip use. Stick with the double pumper and if your friend has the funds, go with the HP series carb. I've used both the standard 4150 750cfm and the HP 4150 and the HP really cooks!
