Anyone try one of these carbs at the track with success over the years?
850 cfm,center squirter,single 50 cc pump.

I race in the stock appearing class and we can't use a double pumper..haven't had any luck with the 850 cfm vacuum Holley.

You might try a 3418-1 Holley, if you can find one. It was a factory 850 cfm v.s. carb used on 1967 L88 Corvettes. Can't be much worse than what you have described so far.

have one of those 80531/850 vs carbs on the shelf too. such a shame to drop $500 on a carb and it not function correctly..... bet it needs a rebuild by now too..

I have tried 2 of them and both ended with the same result-disappointment. Sold one and kept one. For the time being,a plain old 3310 runs just fine on my car.

Same here mister 4 speed. a rebuilt one from the 70's I think.... for the track - going to put my 850 dp w/50cc sec pump back on it this spring. the 496 runs real good down low (using the "egg under the pedal" method of course) with it. the 750 vs is just fine for the street though...
