When I got my car the last owner had the Edelbrock carb sitting atop an early 90's Holley alum. intake. I want to freshen the appearance for the spring and was preparing to pull it off, bead blast/clear coat it, and reinstall. Does anyone have any experience/feedback about these manifolds? I've never heard much about them and if they're junk I'll just go with a new Performer and won't waste my time. Any thoughts?

I would try cleaning it up while bolted on the motor first. I've had good luck usuing Eagle One cast aluminum mag cleaner. Squirt in on & hose it off. Couple applications like that should have it looking much better. On switching for more performance I personally don't think you would notice any differance
on a street car that would be worth all that trouble.

Thanks. That's the kind of feedback I was looking for. I'm not afraid to dig into it, but was hesitant because it's only for looks that I'd be doing it. Right now there are no problems or leaks. Maybe I oughta leave my paws off of it!;)

I have a really old Holley Street Dominator split single plane with a rear balance passage on another car, with a Holley 600 carb. I have run it for nearly 20 years and still like it. I just put an Edelbrock Performer RPM on a nearly identical combo and it seems similar.

I polished the Holley 20 years ago. It stayed shiny for a couple weeks, max, so I gave up making them pretty.

67Shovel, I owe you a beer! This suggestion saved me HOURS over what may have been an ill-conceived idea in the first place! The Eagle One etching mag cleaner did an amazing job on the cast aluminum! So good, in fact, that the alternator housing is next followed by any other cast alum. I can find sitting around......
