Better get your parts ASAP, cause they may be scarce for a while.

Parts for a Holley are going to be scarce? Are we talking about the same Holley? The one that darn near every aftermarket company in the world makes parts for?

Jeff
"...its brands include Flowtech, Weiand, Nitrous Oxide Systems and Hooker."
Thats not good...
Holley got greedy, bought up all the other co's, then fired all the management, came up with one size fits all tech dept
Remember when Holley was a division of Colt Industries?

No, or maybe I just forgot. There's lot's of things I don't remember, or maybe I just never knew them in the first place, not sure, I can't remember.

.....If you can't remember it......you can't be accused of forgetting it :D.

Didn't they do this like 2 years ago?

So that leaves a very big part of Holleys line up out of your buying decisions. How many Holley or Weiand intake manifolds do you see proudly wearing the "made in the usa" badge that edelbrock does? There is a reason for it, and thats they offshore them

When I said offshore about Holley and Weiand, I didnt mean mexico or any part of any land connected to the USA. Those intakes take a nice little boat ride across the pacific after they are made

This may have some merit but how many real performance cars use edelbrock carbs?

I completely agree, I wouldnt use one on my car. My point was if you are only going to buy made in the usa, the parts selection just got really narrowed down.

Jeff
That news is grim. Holley has been a staple of the industry for a long, long time. Hooker & Weiand are also veterans.

Yes, Holley has been through some different owners. I just hope they come back roughly the same as we have been accustomed to. These times are pretty tough for most though. We need manufacturers and SEMA to protect Hot Rodding since they are the voice that carries clout.

I just got custom pistons from Diamond made up in Clinton Township, Michigan & custom Eagle rods from Mississippi. My Offenhauser intake was made in USA, as were my Stovebolt headers. My cam is a brand new, older GM marine part. I want my trans to either be a TCI, or a locally built unit with proper US parts. Bowtie Overdrives will also be getting some business from me I figure.

Where I live in eastern Toronto there are numerous automotive suppliers, but the numbers are down from the peak when GM had their van plant (r.i.p.) in Scarborough. The A.G. Simpson bumper stamping plant is gone.
Local chrome shops have closed since the enviromental concerns have made running a chroming business prohibitively expensive.

Holley has been mismanaged for decades. How many bankrupcies has it been now? I just don't understand how you can have such strong brands that sell well and still mismanage the business enough to go broke. The people in charge must be utter dolts. Even though times are tough, there are plenty of companies out there without brands nearly as strong as Holley, Weiand, NOS or Hooker which are making it through.
I imagine they went bankrupt the same way every other business or private party went bankrupt...they borrowed money they couldn't pay back. Americans are eventually going to have to get over this whole "debt as a way of life" mindset.
