The list number on this Holley carb is 3579 on top and then 1736-1 underneath.

That list number doesn't show up in either of my Holley Illustrated Parts and Specs Manuals #36-51 either. I have previously owned a few Holley carbs that never got past the engineering stage and never made it into production. Those were awfully hard to run down. Maybe some pictures of the base and the linkage might give some clues.

There is a LIST-1736-A (AAS) listed, but not a "-1" update. The ID text goes such for it, (1-191), TV 24-2, 1958 Mercury 383 engine, Gasket: 4-5, Pep: 3-112, Master: 85R-1562. TV 24-2 shows a 4bbl, single fuel inlet, vacuum secondaries, secondary metering plate inside the rear float bowl, on carb choke, but optional to use with a heat passage in manifold external choke stove, and, optional NASCAR low center fuel bowls.
