My name is Dave - I've been a lurker here for years. I live in the Asheville NC area. 20 years ago I bought a '68 Chevelle. I finally got it running on the road 4 months ago. It's got a turbocharged '94 LT1 (383 cubic inches) and it's running AMP EFI Ultimate fuel injection. The turbo is a large Garrett ball bearing GT45R. It's got a T56 and 12 bolt with 3.55 gears and posi. Most recently, I changed out the brakes to Brembo 6 piston calipers in the front and 4 piston rear calipers (from a 2006 Porsche Cayenne). The car still has many minor issues that need attention, but I can now finally drive it on the road. I'm currently only running about 7.5 psi of boost, but for me it's scary fast.

I've used the chevelles.com forum many times to search for help - it's been a huge benefit to me. Thanks to everyone else for posting. If you see anything that looks horribly wrong or stupid in my pics, please let me know. Thank you

Nice car. On the power booster if you are not happy with your brakes (as far as power feel) a bigger master cylinder will help out a lot. It looks like a single booster 7 or 8 inch which is too small (won't get a lot of line pressure which is what you need with your big brakes) and you could fit a dual 8 or 9 inch or even an OEM size 11 inch. Powermaster brakes in NC has boosters to look at. I have a dual 9 inch in mine works very well. Good luck with build coming along nicely.

Thank you folks for the kind words - I sincerely appreciate it. To answer the questions:

I haven't dyno'd the car yet, but the power is somewhere around 575 Hp (+-25 Hp). For me it's scary - this is by far the most powerful vehicle I've ever owned (my daily driver is a Prius). I've been really enjoying the sounds of the turbo/wastegates/blow off valve when it gets under boost. I recognize there are many other WAY more powerful Chevelles out there than mine, and that's fine with me.

The Brembo brakes feel great so far. My booster is a dual diaphragm (not sure if 7" or 8"). I'm limited by the size due to the clutch master cylinder proximity. I can easily lock up the brakes on dry pavement. These Brembo brakes replaced a set of Baer brakes (PBR calipers). I made the brackets to mount the calipers to the spindles.

Yes, I plan on building a few more speakers. Right now the garage has 14 subwoofers and 4 regular speakers.

Front suspension has GW upper control arms, GW Delalum bushings throughout, and coilovers. Honestly, what I worry about now are the C-clips in the 12 bolt rear end. I really can't afford a 9" rear end.

Thank you again, and I can't say enough how much I've learned from this website.

Dave
