Help with repo temp.gauge

I bought a repo. temp gauge but it will not give me the proper engine temp. the fuel gauge works fine the repo gauges do not have the resitors on the back they are connected internally the gauge shows 100 ohmes the sender at 210 degrees is 100 ohmes you would think it should be correct a mechanical gauge is about 20 degrees less? any suggestions? I have the same issue with my repro gauge on my 70 SS. The mechanical gauge ran right at 190 but the dash gauge runs at 220. My sending unit is on the head. Haven't tried to trouble shoot yet, I'll let you know if I come up with something
