the four prongs that go into the board keeps breaking..is there something like super glue or something that could protect them until I get it installed?

Clear nail polish is usually lacquer-based and lacquer eats just about anything, so it may eat whatever is on there now.Would clear fingernail polish work over the contacts..to make it alittle less prone to bend or break?
The original switch was broke..I went to replace it and after test fitting it the 4 pins broke off..I ordered another one and it did the same..My question was if I put superglue on the pins would that make them less likely to break?I'm not sure that I really grasp what you're saying. Do you mean those 4 pins keep breaking off of the board? They should bend, not break. Seems to me that it would be a sign of bad solder joints, or sub standard materials used. you could probably put a dab of super glue on it for stability. But this also brings me to question why you have it out of the package, and haven't installed it yet? The more those components sit around out of their packaging, the more prone they are to breakage, or electrical shock. When you install them, you don't need rubber gloves, although it's a good precaution. I was taught to ground yourself by touching both hands onto the metal chassis to ground yourself before sticking my hands inside any device. Or work on the device while on a rubber mat, with a ground strap if possible.
that's really wild. Is it possible any pieces of the broken pins are stuck in the lands? Super glue may help, but those pins shouldn't be that brittle. they should have a bit of flex to them. Place the glue beneath the legs to give them support against the board. try that. You may end up doing a system board swap though, if pieces of the pins are broken off in the lands. Good Luck!!!The original switch was broke..I went to replace it and after test fitting it the 4 pins broke off..I ordered another one and it did the same..My question was if I put superglue on the pins would that make them less likely to break?
