I am in the process of building a 481 bbc (+.125) 454 GM block, Eagle 6.385 rods, 4340 forged crank and Je 13.2 pistons at 118cc with 47.0 dome cc. I have not picked out a cam, heads, or intake. It will be a 1/4 mile drag only. There will be no nitrous on this motor. It is going in a 3400/3500 lb, 70 nova w/full interior, 30x13.5 ET Street, ladder bar, turbo 400 w/brake, 4:57 gear.

I am looking to run 10.0's with this set up. (if that's possible). I am looking for the "best" out head out there for my application and money. Dart oval 275's or the rect 325's, canfield 310's or 350'sare all heads I am considering.. I have no preference just as long as they are good for my set up. If anyone has any ideas let me know.

I'm working on a B/B piece 520in for a 4000lb truck. I am going to use the BRODIX BP BB-3 XTRA O 332.

You can easily run 10.0's with mildly prepared 781/049 large oval iron heads.

If you want aftermarket, I'd go with the AFR 305's with the CNC chambers.

I run a BMF 310 which is an awesome head, but from your post on another forum, out of your price range.

The AFR 305 on your setup should easily run 9.60's to 9.80's if not better depending on your track elevation.

What converter? You need 5500 flash stall MINIMUM, 8" converter.

the canfield 310 is hard to beat for the price!! How about the 320 patriot ,they look good for your combo.
How budget limited are you ?

I would like to spend under or around 2500 on a pair. I haven't decided on a converter. I really would like to have the bmf 310's. I was waiting on a head selection so I choose a intake, cam and converter. The density altitude is usually around 3000-3500. The track elevation is 900 ft above sea level. Also what intake and camshaft would be good to use?

For your budget and out of the box performance I vote 305cc AFR's with the CNC chamber option.....that is what I have and they work pretty well.
