I have a friend over to help me begin the tear-down on my '72 Conv. Frame-off is starting today. We got the engine, tranny, and front clip off the car so far and wanted to go ahead and remove the top while he was here...

We disconnected the hydraulic cylinders, and removed the 3 bolts on each side where the brackets attach to the body work. It feels like we are still missing something in the back, on the bottom frame piece, but I can't see anything. Can anyone tell me what else needs to be removed to get the top off a '72 vert?

Thanks!

Well, we removed one of the bolts that attached the very lowest back part of the frame (the part that stays at the bottom all the time). We pulled and wiggled and it came out.

Got it out now, hopefully I can get it back in. Can a top man add a cover now while it is out of the car or should I wait until I can bring him the car and the top?
