I'm trying to find new plugs and terminals that connect to the ignition switch and headlight switch on my '68. I'm rewiring with a universal kit and would rather not reuse my worn and partially melted originals. I've been searching and I'm starting to get desperate here
Thanks!

I've had good luck renewing the connectors with a new metal connector inside the original plug (at least on the headlight switch. A GOOD electronics store will have the 1/4" brass crimp style connectors that are used almost everywhere on the car. What you are looking for is all metal, without any insulator and 'open' - meaning that you lay the wire in it before you crimp it. You will also need the proper crimp tool or else you'll have wires falling out everywhere! Don't try Radio Shack... they just want to sell wireless phones. Some good online electronics sources are Allied.com and Mouser.com. A good auto parts store might have them as well. The ignition switch might be more of a challenge. I was able to use the connector that came with my Painless 'muscle car' harness - you might try to contact Painless.
Good luck1

Check your NAPA store. Their Belden line has the terminals, Part #725145 for the male end and #725147 for the female. They also carry the insulators for the terminals.

Well, I called Painless this morning and they were no help. The thing that bugs me is that they sell one of the two connectors I need in a kit with a new headlight switch, but they won't just sell the connector.
