Usually happens when your throttle blades are open too far. You probably have some carbon on your pistons that will keep igniting fuel after you shut it off, and the added airflow from a poorly adjusted carb only keeps feeding it. If it just started happening, check your return spring, might have weakened or broke, or just come off somehow.

Sometimes this is as simple as the idle speed being too high ... or, timing a little too advanced .. Also, if you are running 87 or 89 octane, it may help to go up to premium ...

im running 94 altho i know i dont really have to, but why not its my baby. i dont think its idle but the carbon and the carb still open is probably it i bought it 1 month ago so i still finding things out thaty are wrong with it and i am un clear how many miles are on it
