Hi , Can someone help me with this rear code. I was told it was out of a 67 chevelle. Someone told me they think it is a 68-69 chevelle. I found the one that shows the ratio ( CI1219B ) Thanks in advance.

numbers CI 1219B

The 3917124 was used in late 67 as well as 1968 and early 1969. The ID code "CI" was used in all three years for a 3.73 Postraction so that's not much help. As suggested, look for a date casting in one of the webs like this:

You'll have a letter for the month (A...L for Jan...Dec) followed by a 1-or 2-digit day of the month followed by a 1-digit letter for the year. This example is June (F) 21, 1967.

For rear ends, engine blocks, heads, etc. it's been letter/day/month for casting numbers and stamped IDs for blocks and rear ends it's been 2-digit month, 2-digit day since at least 64 I believe.

Some don't include the letter "I" and some do. There may be more parts, but the only thing that comes to mind off-hand with julian-type dates are on TH400's. :)
You're right, 71 & 72 rear axle housings were coded with julian dates.
