New to the site and a new owner of a chevelle. I recently purchased a 69 but was wondering if anyone has any knowledge about getting a bonded title since the car was sold to me by someone who owned an inspection shop and had it left behind his shop for 5 years. He was not the owner and the car did have a lien on it back in 2000. It has been a year since the guy who took the car there was talked to and the owner of the shop needed it out of there. Owner of the shop tried to contact the guy who took the car to the shop but was unsuccessful. Is it difficult to get a title? I live in Texas?
Thanks team chevelle

welcome to the site, as for your title its different from state to state. i know in pa its easy to get another title in your case. you bought it from a shop that had a lien on it. the lien is now paid off so the state will issue you the title, but thats pa might be different in TX

Rudy, you are going to have to go to your local county dmv office where you are going to get the car title registered and licened and get the instructions and forms from them. It's suppose to be the same in all of Texas but it's not, it depend on the county. Talk to some of the local rat rod builders, they always seem to have been thru what you are trying to accomplish. Hey, and welcome from a little south of you from east of San Antonio. And by the way, we are suppose to go look at a 56 Chevy two door hardtop in Austin in a week or so. If you hear of one give me a shout.
