I am finishing off a crate motor swap in my 65 chevelle and need a power source for the HEI distributor that supplies 12 volts when cranking and when running. I removed the old resistor wire for the points distributor and connected a 12 gauge wire in it's place on the harness. I don't have a battery connected to test this, would that source supply battery voltage both when cranking and when running? If not, where can I get a power source for the distributor?
