My first project on latest acquisition is to remove and restore the dash. Dash is out and I noticed an old mouse nest in the heater core housing. It doesn't smell at all but I'd like to clean all that out and was wondering if there is a hidden fastener tucked up behind the front inner fenderwell that will be an issue removing the housing. Any tips for this project? Thank you.

It would help to know what you are working on.

Yes. The inner housing is bolted to the outer housing.You'll have to remove all the nuts along the firewall to wiggle out the housing under the dash.
Good time to clean all that up, now that the dash has been removed.

The year of my Chevelle is in parenthesis and it's a non-AC car. I agree now's the time to clean all that out. I was curious if the inner fender will have to be messed with for bolt access to the outer housing. I'm sure someone else has already had the pleasure.
