heater by-pass

I want to install a vaccum by-pass valve for the heater to cut off flow of hot water coming from water pump to the heater core. I've seen alot of cars with a manual shut-off valve spliced in, but I wanted to be correct in the restoration. I have the valve, but no info on where to connect the vaccum hose to once inside the firewall. Theres alot of vaccum hoses under the dash pad of my 72 SS. Where to I stick that hose?

you're in luck. i just installed the same valve on my 70 ss last sunday. my car originally did not have a/c and someone added everything as it should be, less the vacuum valve.

actually, this valve was dropped for the 72' year and was not used, so if you have installed it, it's not correct. but if you want to hook it up, the vacuum line was black with a white tracer. it leads to the bottom vacuum valve on the a/c control panel in the dash. this 3 way valve has one hose that leads up to the top valve, with about 6 or 7 hoses, this white one and one goes to an actuator under the dash.

mine worked perfectly after hookup.

mail me back if you need further help.
