I hope someone can give me a clue here...

My blower motor in my 70 malibu doesn't seem to have a High speed in it. It's rough here in Ohio when it gets cold. I don't really want to drive the car in bad conditions, but my reliable car is about to bite the dust.

Anyway, the switch seems to work fine in that it changes the speed of the fan, but it doesn't seem to blow as hard as it should. Could this be a bad blower motor or bad wire connection somewhere?

Thanks in advance!

Hey whee, it's DG in Springfield, Ohio. I have similiar probs with my heater blower. There is a high speed relay on the left side of firewall where when the fan switch is in high, energizes the relay to get full 12v to blower motor. Mine was bad, and the fuse was blown.

The wire running to the relay is 12v, check there to make sure fuse is good.

My fan switch is also intermittant. Now that I got the relay working if you wiggle the switch side to side the fan turns off and on.

I paid $17.00 for the relay from Year One, and haven't had a chance to replace the switch. I put a new motor in from Advance Auto for about $20.00.

Give me call 937-324-6377 if you get stuck, and maybe I'll bring my car over.

I romped mine around all day yesterday, gotta love it in Ohio when it's warm, and premium is close to a dollar a gallon.

Excellent! I'll check that out tomorrow if the weather keeps up.

I finally did something about my headlights being so dim today. It's amazing what a little bit of corrosion will do to wire terminals.

It's good to feel that car-fever coming on again.

Burn up some gas while you can. I hear it's going to be a heck of a weekend.

Talk to ya later.

Whee
