The headliner is missing from my 71 and i noticed the factory attached an insulating pad to the inside of the roof. I see some rust around this and am wondering if i should remove, sand, paint and replace this? How would i remove this large piece? I havent seen one offered in any catalogs. Thanks

I just scraped mine out, sanded and POR-15s the inside. There will be a reddish hue that may appear to be rust but its just the factory spray to prevent it. ANy upholstery shop can get you a piece of insulation/sound deadener for the roof

Sorry Ben, didn't mean to step on any toes. I've noticed a few guys asking lately where to find them,so that's why I posted.
