I'm replacing the headliner in my 70 El Camino. It has 3 bows but no clips. I purchased 3 clips for a 67-72 Chevelle. The back end of the clips looks like they would twist 180 degrees into a slot. I assume each clip would attach to the center of each bow and then attach to the roof. My roof is bare. Would I just glue the back of the clip to the roof?

Thanks John

Dutch,

Not sure how the El Camino is setup but in the 70 Chevelle the only bow with clips is the center one. They serve a dual purpose. To hold the bow and the wires for the dome light.
There are several of them along the center roof support and you are correct, they rotate to lock.
The other bows are held in place on the ends only.

Hope this helps. If it doesn't try this...

Dan,

Thanks. The dome light on the El Camino screws into the body above the rear window. I'm beginning to think the clips are not used in the El Camino,

Thanks again,

John
