Ok so I bought my chevelle a few months ago and the only lights that come on when I turn on the headlights are the two outside headlights. The two inner headlights do not go on. The two outside headlights do have brights in them.

What is the correct setup with the brights and regular headlights?

Are you saying that when you press the upper beam switch, the outer bright beams only come on? If that's the case, there are a couple of scenerios. One is that the inner lamps are burned out (they are ONLY bright beam lamps...one filament), the bright beam switch is bad, or, the lamp connectors are bad. If the lamps are good (remove and check across the filaments with an ohm meter), then check the voltage across the lamp connectors with headlights on and someone actuating the bright beam floor switch. You should see a full 12 volts across the connector. Check the ground connection from each connector as well where it ties to the radiator support.
