Need help on how to replace the headlight swith lever, when I pull on it to turn on my headlights the whole thing comes out. I bought a new lever but it does not stay in. Is there a trick to this?

There is a button on the back side of the switch that has to be depressed to lock the pull shaft as slide it in. Same thing to remove, the button must be held down.

I would have to pull out the cluster to get to the back of the switch right?
