I went to the local auto parts store, and purchased the more expensive one- came home and looked online because I thought the price was higher than others I've looked at recently.

Anyway, here are two of them, so what's the difference that reflects a $10.00 variation in price, by the same manufacturer?

Charlie, dont know what school you went to, but I only see a $4.00 difference in price and like "vettefella" said, they are two different switches.

Seriously though, I didn't look at their online pricing for the one I bought (S472p) but I paid $23.99 in the store plus tax.
Additionally-a bit more research indicates my headlight switch connector has 6 wires, so I'm assuming I only need the 7 pin switch. I've also read the older post from 2009 about the differences between the 7 and 8 pin versions.

The difference (besides the price) would be the application. The extra terminal would be for pre-1968 switches. You can read about the differences here:

Thanks Joe- that was helpful. I'm going to revisit the store, and see if they'll credit me the difference, between what I paid and the online price shown.
