It will. The one in my 64 Chevelle came out of a 78 Nova. Got lucky and spotted one somebody just replaced on a junk yard car. They are all the same if they look the same and the connector fits. Should be able to buy one locally and save the shipping and handling charges. The switch will be easier to remove if you have a special tool they sell to get the nut off.
No special tool needed! Take an old fork (a dinner fork!) and bend the two center tines out of the way or cut them off. The two remaining outer tines will fit into the small holes in the retaining nut allowing you to turn it and get the whole thing apart!
