Last week when I was driving home I blew out both of my headlights. I have been trying to figure out why, but at this point I can not find any wiring that is grounding out. Whenever I turn on my headlights wether they are plugged in or not my voltage meter starts jumping up and down and all of my lights start flickering. The only other symptom is that when the car is off and i turn on the head lights I can hear what sounds like the light switch in the dash is clicking. I am not sure if this is because the switch is bad or if it is because something is gorunding out. I will take any help i can get.

You have a short in the headlight wiring. That clicking is the self-reset circuit breaker in the headlight switch cycling on and off. The volt meter is jumping because of the short circuit load being switched on and off by the breaker.

First thing to establish is if this occurs on both high and low beam.

There is a single wire from the headlight switch to the high/low beam switch on the floor. If this occurs on high and low then the short is either in this one wire or in *both* wires up front. You could unplug the floor switch and see what happens. If the clicking stops then the short is likely up front.

I would probably do a close inspection of the front wiring harness and see what you can see.
