Is it just me with my 69, that when I almost have the lights adjusted perfectly, the light jumps out of the screw grooves?
I bought some replacement screws from Auto Zone when I was upgrading my headlights due the plastic breaking and had the same issue. I ordered original replacements and they work great on my 67.

Thanks Guys. Misery loves company. I feel better now that it's not just me, ha.......

I will pop em out and do something. Need to buff the rings anyways.
I will trap the screw in there somehow. If I'm successful, I'll post a fix here.

Same on the 72. Had them spot in and then pop. Lots of horrible words.

Ordered new screws, rings, and led headlights since I was in that area anyway. The new buckets were the trick and glad I got them as well.

Led or halogen is the way to go, don’t even know how I ever saw at night with the original sealed beam.

Yes, trouble here too. I've thought about deepening the depth of the hook that catches the adjuster screw for less chance of popping out.

Rick
Yep. Exactly what I was thinking also.
But I'm cheap and decided to use the material I had on hand, namely, the bucket itself.
Just got the ol pointy body hammer out and tapped away on a dolly and brought the metal around with some stretching.

The first one, I had to use a vice grip to open it to insert the screw. The second one just snapped into place nicely.

A little bit of a butcher job, but if I don't see the piece when it's installed, I just don't worry about it. Adding a blob of weld would keep the metal the same thickness and have a better look.

Cranked almost all the way in and still holding.
