What is the size of the headlamp bulb for a 64 chevelle? The brights work fine but one of the regular lights (are these called the lowlights?) does not turn on. Also, is it pretty easy to remove and replace the bulb?
Thank you for your help.
Replacement standard bulb is listed as a 4001. There are a few people who make this if all you are interested in is making the light work. Same bulb was used until 1970. Most major auto parts stores have a catalog showing the replacement numbers.
Once you remove the lamp bezel you can access the bulb. The chrome ring around the bulb it held in by 3 screws. Remove those 3 screws and the bulb comes out. You can't put the bulb in wrong. The bulb has a tab built into the glass on the backside. This tab goes into a notch on the metal headlight bucket. In other words the lamp ends up in the same position.
