I got these headbolts from Summit, nothing fancy. Is the white stuff thread sealer? Is that adequate?

Sorry but Permatex Copper is not for thread sealing :(

Dave,

The white sealer on the threads is all you need. That is what it is there for. Same thing that GM uses.

Thanks Bill, I guess you should tell my engine that, or maybe not, it might stop doing such a good job of keeping the coolant where it belongs.

Jake,

I am just stating the facts. I know guys use it on head bolts, and it might work but if you go to Permatex's or probably any other manufactures website, you will not see RTV listed for use as a thread sealer.

Also, when you purchase a product like head bolts that already have a sealer applied to them from the factory, why on earth would you want to use anything else ?

Yeah you should be good to go. I used arp thread sealer on all of mine. But I would not use copper.
