Got a beater 71 malibu 307 3 on the tree thinking a little more 1st gear and O.D. would be a big help. Anyone thats done one of these swaps, any knowledge or advice on this you have for me would be appreciated. Thanks.

A friend installed a T5 behind an SBC 400. He converted a "World Class" Firebird T5 with a tail housing from an S10 T5 in order to rotate the assembly clockwise and use it with a standard GM bell housing and clutch set up.

It handled the torque just fine.

Chrysler MY6 Trans Fit GM bellhousing?

Supposedly some GM light trucks used a Chrysler built 4 speed trans, with minor changes, to fit GM applications in the 80's - bolted to various V6's and V8's. It is reportedly a strong trans, cheap and shifts ok. Does any one know if it uses the same bellhousing pattern as the Muncie, etc. I...
