I'm getting ready to fire up my new motor, and had a question. Since I'm getting a new wiring harness for a SS cluster dash soon, if I just hook up the engine compartment harness would that enable my charging system to charge the battery during break in? I was going to hotwire the coil/distributer, and use a remote starter to work the starter. Don't want worry about chasing electrical demon's when I try to start the motor. Was just wondering if this idea would work, or should I just get a charger and use that? I know it probably sound's wierd, but I really gotta hear this thing run. Dave

If you mean during cam break in, you shouldn't even need to worry about charging the battery.
A fully charged battery will run an engine a long long time before it goes dead if nothing else is turned on.
