I was messing w/ my timing a bit and and after a little advancing when warm it is hard to start, cold it starts fine. Does this mean I have too much timing or what?
Raising the timing does make the car harder to start. Race cars have Ign delays which retard the spark so they can fire up the motor. You probably have heat soak also. Worse if you have headers. You can possibly keep your timing as is if you can improve the starter by heat shielding or lots of other tricks already posted earlier to improve the voltage to the starter when hot.
