Does anyone have any pics of a 72 SS painted code 43 Gulf green with black stripes and vinyl top? I have seen the pic on Chevellestuff. That is what got me interested in the color. My 72 was originally that color with a green vinyl top,but was painted red in the 90's. I took the stainless trim off the a pillar and found some very nice green under it. I am considering going back to that with a black vinyl top and stripes. Also I think 70 mist green is nice too. With so many red cars I was thinking it would be a nice change, but have not convinced myself fully.

opinions welcome

I have a tri Coloured paint job on my 67
- Green in the sunlight
- Blue on a cloudy day
- Black at night

But will likely be changing to the following colour in the future,
a '90 Pontiac deep forest green,
I saw this colour on one of our fellow TCrs cars "CHELKAMINO"
see this posting of a pic of his car

Todd, search the forum for " Hideous Gulf Green". Some great pics on a thread I started. I have a 72' malibu, #43 gulf green car. Gonna stick with that color on repaint soon.

I hated it when I bought the car in 1992. It was mostly primer but there was some green showing. Painted it red. Now I have it off the frame and completely apart. I found the green under the weatherstrip/ trim piece and I am thinking that this color isn't so bad. I think a nice bc cc paint job will make it nice. It's definitely different.

Like you, I have come to the same conclusion. It's period correct, original to the cars and yes..... very different. Will post photos when I'm done with the paint on the 72'. Did you check out the thread mentioned, great photos.

Yes I read the hideous green thread. I also already saw the chevellestuff.net site. That car doesn't have a vinyl top was hoping someone had a pic of one with VT
