Hey folks,
What is the difference between a standard 72 grill and an SS grill? TIA,

Honey, its not a $200 hat. The distributor was $200, the hat came with it. kevin d

No physical differences that I know of, just cosmetics..SS grille would be blacked out, and only use 2 pieces of stainless trim, the upper and lower. Malibus used all 4 pieces, upper, lower, and two middle pieces.

Talking about interchangeable..
The all fit.
Wagon, Conv., SS, 4dr, El-Camino..
They all have the same grill.. (diffrent cosmetics.. But they are interchangeable)

Could be 71 or 72. The actual fender extension is the same between 71/2, only the turn signal lens and bezel is different between the two years. No divider bars for 72. Be aware that the passenger cars use one extension and signal lens, while the wagon and elky use another. A signal lens from a wagon/elky will not fit a passenger car extension, and vice versa.
