I am getting real close to the point where I need to decide on a color. I've always loved black chevelles, and had planned on it from the beginning. I've recently been considering a gunmetalish color though. Any opinions/pics out there of some good gunmetal colors on a chevelle??

I'm thinking something in this area, or maybe a little darker.

I love black, but if you're really picky don't go with it, it'll look new for about an hour then it'll show ever little fingerprint, spec of dirt, and imperfection imaginable. Dark grey looks just as good but is a little more forgiving. Sparkling graphite is my favorite grey color I think, it's a BMW color, looks very different in different lights and almost black in some cases.

My 70 LS-5 El Camino is BLACK, And yes I love black...... Here is an Idea...... My new Silverado is Black BUT it is METALIC BLACK. New Chevy & GMC color in 011.
Go look at one at a Chevy Dealer ( If they have one). The Metalic Black is an option (cost Extra) ,,,But you do not see very many Metalic Black Silverados. Its kinda/sorta a Silver Black Metalic. Go look at one.

I don't think you can make a mistake either way. Both are excellent choices.

Thanks for the help. I feel like a chick shopping for shoes right now.

NOOOOOO She would buy 4, one of both colors in 3 different styles, just in case.
So if you were a chick, you would get
Black Chevelle,Convert,Elky
Gray Chevelle,Convert,Elky

I think a 1971 Malibu looks REALLY nice in black. Very mean, yet very elegant. You want the boy racer look, paint it grey/charcoal put on powder coated black wheels and lower it...If you want a retro look, try black with white stripes and put on L60s and Americans or Crager Mags.

All I gotta say is once you go black........ I love a black car, hate taking care of them, but I love a black car. Mines going black, that was the original color, if it were something else originally, I would still paint it black. I guess I'm a gluten for punishment.

I don't see a problem there. Especially if they were all on SALE! :D:D
